Stages of Homeschooling: Enjoying the Journey (Book 2)

Which stage of homeschooling are you in? Are you new, somewhat experienced, ready to graduate one of your children or waving good-bye to your youngest? Stages of Homeschooling is a series of three eBooks that offer ideas and information for each stage of the homeschooling journey:

BeginningsEnjoying the Journey - Letting Go

Writer Barbara Frank spent the last 25 years homeschooling her four children to adulthood and writing several books, including Thriving in the 21st Century, The Imperfect Homeschooler’s Guide to Homeschooling and Life Prep for Homeschooled Teenagers. Now she’s combined new material with some of her many articles and blog posts to create four eBooks that will encourage and inform you as you go through the four stages of homeschooling.

Stages of Homeschooling: Enjoying the Journey (Book 2)

Have you got a few years of homeschooling under your belt, and you’re looking for practical information and encouragement from someone who’s lived the homeschooling life?

If your answer is “yes,” then this is the book for you.

Barbara Frank just wrapped up 25 years of homeschooling four children, including one with special needs, and wants to share her experiences with those currently on the homeschool journey.  So she’s combined new material with some of her articles and blog posts into a series of four books called Stages of Homeschooling. Enjoying the Journey is the second book of the series.

Stages of Homeschooling: Enjoying the Journey is divided into eight sections:

  • “Working with Your Children” (Curriculum and its place in your homeschool, specific ideas for working with your children, and tactics for avoiding homeschool burnout)
  • “Raising Children You Can Live With 24/7” (An especially important consideration for homeschooling parents)
  • “Self-Care for the Homeschooling Parent” (How to keep yourself strong for the important job of homeschooling)
  • “Homeschool Challenges and Issues” (Handling difficulties that might crop up for you personally or for the homeschool community at large)
  • “Books and Resources I Have Known and Loved (and How to Find Them)”
  • “Homeschooling and Holidays” (A look at holidays from the vantage point of a homeschooling parent)
  • “For Girls Only” (A few thoughts for those of you raising daughters)
  • “Teaching Practical Skills” (Ideas for including this increasingly important topic in your homeschooling plans)

This book will keep your enthusiasm for homeschooling burning brightly as you enjoy the homeschool journey.

Reviews for Stages of Homeschooling: Enjoying the Journey:

Great book if you’re near burnout! April 30, 2014

It was the middle of April and I was sick of our homeschool curriculum and sick of my sons poor attitude towards school work. I was ready to throw up my hands and quit until I found this book and realized I wasn’t the only who felt this way! It encouraged me to change my homeschooling up a little, add in some fun activities and stop being so hard on myself in thinking that I wasn’t doing enough! If you’ve been homeschooling for a couple of years and feel like you’re going crazy this is the book for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you are new or in a rut, read this book! October 28, 2012

Loved this book and felt refreshed as to why I am homeschooling. I have only been homeschooling for 3 years, so this book not only gave me great ideas, but it reassured that I was on the right path. Her examples and advice are very helpful. This is a must read for those who are homeschooling. I think the name should be, “Relax, stay true, and laugh a lot; Enjoying the stages of Homeschooling.” But that’s just my opinion.
